Summer is almost over, and Emma Nelson is getting prepared for grade seven. It’s her mother’s high school reunion, but Emma is more concerned with her online friend, Jordan.

While her mother is at the high school reunion, Emma decides to go meet her online friend Jordan at a hotel.

Ever since Toby and Ashley have become step siblings, they have not gotten along. When Ashley decides to run for class president, Toby decides to have J.T. run against her.

Terri becomes self-conscious when Degrassi Community School’s first night time dance comes up, but J.T. and Toby decide to stay and look at porn on the internet instead.

Parent’s Day is coming up, and Toby doesn’t like the idea of his parents together- at school, because they always fight. He decides to make a plan so only one can go.

Ashley becomes worried that Jimmy will find some other girl if she doesn’t spice up their relationship. Toby tries to impress Emma by being interested in endangered wildlife.

Jimmy is the Degrassi Panthers top basketball player, but with the ever growing stress of balancing sports and basketball, Jimmy feels he needs a little boost. Spinner lets Jimmy borrow his last pill of Ritalin, which causes Spinner to become hyper because he has ADHD.

Ashley’s dad is back in town for the week, and tells her that he is homosexual. Liberty tells J.T. that she has a crush on him, so J.T. pretends he is gay.

Ashley gets fed up after constantly seeing Jimmy everywhere she goes. She decides to break up with him, but doesn’t because it’s Jimmy’s birthday, and his parents are away- again. Jimmy finds out, and breaks up with Ashley. Meanwhile, Emma has her period at school while wearing a white skirt.

After seeing Mr. Armstrong in an empty classroom with Liberty, Emma speads a rumour that the two have an intimate relationship.Meanwhile, after finding an earwig in his cafeteria food, Spinner decides to boycott the caf.

Emma and Sean go on a date. Spinner and Jimmy pull pranks on their English teacher, Ms. Kwan, after giving them both detentions.

Manny decides to join the Spirit Squad after Paige starts a team. Emma is appalled, because she thinks it’s sexist. J.T. and Toby try to win $1,000,000 . You get the prize by finding a can of Pringles with the Ace of Spade, and Ace of Clubs, and they already have the spade. Little do they know that someone else has the club.

When the annual Degrassi Lunchtime Cabaret comes along, Ashley decides she and Terri could win if their band- Two Girls and a Keyboard played. But when Two Girls and a Keyboard changes to Three Girls and a Keyboard, Ashley isn’t sure she wants to anymore.

The school year is coming to a close, and that means final exams. Sean, who had to repeat grade 7 fears he might have to repeat it again. Running out of time to finish his test, Sean becomes pressured, angry, and even picks a fight with Jimmy, and even looses Emma something in the process.

It’s the last day of grade 8, and once again Ashley’s been named Most Likely to Succeed by Ms. Kwan’s end of the year awards. Her parents are out of town, so Ashley decides to invite Paige, Terri, and Hazel. But when J.T. brings ecstasy into the picture, and Spinner and the guys show up, Ashley’s perfect image might be tarnished forever.
